World of Tanks – AC1 Sentinel…

March 16th, 2016

AC1 SentinelThe creators of the game World of Tanks helped one of the seven survivors tanks AC1 Sentinel return home, or to Australia. The unusual vehicle was transported from a private kolejkcji in Texas to a museum in Cairnes.

What is so unusual about Sentinel ? This is the only tank, mass-produced in Australia. In the days of World War II, the United Kingdom was not able to provide their colony deliveries of heavy equipment. In the face of a potential Japanese invasion of Australia built 65 tanks Sentinel, based on the British Crusader tank.

AC1 was armed with a two-pound cannon and powered by three engines V8 production Cadillac. The whole weighed 28 tonnes and although it could withstand the battle with German tanks, a challenge with Japanese vehicles should have a check. At least in theory, because the invasion never happened. Sentinel will soon appear in the game World of Tanks and World of Tanks Blitz where you will be able to try it out on the digital battlefield.

Missing German soldiers…

March 8th, 2016

In 1993, the “People’s League”, which was created after the First World War in Germany and had been banned by Hitler, his activities in Russia developed. At that time the activists had already found and buried the remains of nearly a half million Wehrmacht soldiers on the territory of Belgium, France and Yugoslavia under the leadership of Mathäas Gurskij.Today we are aware that the Germans who fought against the Soviet Union, even soldiers and to some extent victims of the regime were. Whatever one may take it well, they were their oath faithfully. Some years ago a military Memorial was opened behind the village Rossoschki in Volgograd. Many German families come Rossoschki, for burial place of their fathers, brothers and grandfathers, whose names are inscribed on 246 plaques. The monuments and the road to the cemetery were built for the money an Austrian citizen. Similar cemeteries plans to found the “national union” even at Novorossiysk and at Kursk. In the cemetery at Rossoschki rest around 30 thousand soldiers who once fought on this soil. Some of them bite with the teeth in every inch of the frozen ground and fought to the last man for their home. The others were uninvited come with the rifle, which had given them a terrible idea in the hand, and completely poisoned with a human nature strange thoughts about our “diversity”. This was a tragedy for both nations. Today Soviet and German soldiers have found reconciliation in brother graves in the dry earth of Volgograd.

A missing soldier…

I spread this information with the hope that there are perhaps descendants and other relatives of this German soldier, whose remains rest in Russian soil. This brand recognition has been found by the investigators in the years 1988-1990 north of the village Orlovka near Volgograd. Since both halves of the brand have been preserved, I have to conclude that the soldier who owned this brand, is registered as missing. One can assume yet that the soldier in the battle of Stalingrad in late 1942 – has fallen early 1943rdThe inscription of the identification tag is:Number: 1845Agency: 2nd Light Replacement Battery 214Blood А.With the publication of this information, I expect that there are people in Germany who are ready to assist in finding the person of the fallen soldiers, perhaps even his relatives, to give them this recognition mark as the last memory of her father, grandfather or brother Miss.To determine the identity of the soldiers, one can turn to the WASt. The German service (WASt) is in possession of a list of ALL dog tags, and can certainly notify the relevant members. In addition, you can, as I have been known to also contact the , if there are such, will be interesting to learn where their father or grandfather has fallen in this war. I know quite well the feeling that people feel in such a situation. I myself was for many years in search of the grave of my grandfather, who fought in the ranks of the Red Army and was killed on 26 July 1944 in the rayon of the city Bialystok. I can still clearly remember how my heart was racing when I received the official document from the Polish Red Cross with the Notification of the location of the funeral, as I then visited the city Bialystok, and the tears could not hold back when I stood at the grave of my grandfather, whom I knew only by the photos.do

As Gerhardt authority checked three offered on eBay identification numbers in a sample, it came promptly to the index cards of three already lost Landser.but very uneasy the subject seems not to be the auction organizers. For German users participating in such auctions is blocked – with two changes to the browser settings to the supposed lock can however quickly deal. For American and British co-auctioneers anyway does not change. They had, it is said in the company, contacted the German department on this issue.

And although currently playing different dog tags are auctioned, there is no fixed appointment with an eBay representative.Missing persons investigator Guntram Berndt now speaks rather in Internet forums militaria lovers directly: “I have them written! Full coverage were indicia However, until the First World War, then still without separating slot and full name, introduced. The experiences on the battlefields of World War I, where soldiers often were mutilated beyond recognition and / or months not recovered in no man’s land were, showed the necessity of these dog tags. Even today be Remains of soldiers found that can be identified due to their identification tag.

Since the 1920s, was at Brands Drain slots mounted. these the brand can be divided in the middle. The upper half remained with the fallen, the lower first went to the unit, then the Defence Administration. Both halves are identical labels, the top has in usually two holes to a band pass to lead and reassign the brand. The bottom has a “overflow hole” the lower halves of brand fallen to line up.

In Austria, before the introduction of the soldiers a capsule as part of the adjustment supported, wherein a legitimacy sheet was kept protected from the weather, worn. The stamp with the following data – 7th Panzer RGT.5 – Nr. 21 0 means: 7th Company Panzer Regiment 5 – Register # 94 – Blood Group 0..

The term “field training regiment” took place because the basic training – as opposed to recent Usance – did not take place in the Reich, but in occupied enemy territory. Units that were exposed to an increased risk of capture, such. As border guard units or paratroopers, or where in general at the capture unit should be veiled, were only numbers on their dog tags. Finally, he hadbut be convinced of the benefits of such an identity mark and their introductionin the Prussian. Army agreed – if the legend. The royal Prussian.. General Dr. F. Need 8 months after the Battle of Hradec Králové were of thethere fallen Prussia only 429 are identified. After Theodor Fontane were in this battle but 99 Offz. And 8,794 man Prus. armylike. It is doubtful whether the brand achieved during the campaign of 1866 in the entirePrus. Army was used, probably she was carried by only a few troops.During the negotiations of the Geneva Committee of the Red Cross had been repeatedly discussedbeen that one means of determining the identity of heavy dead and woundedmust see.In any case, the authenticator must already during the war in 1870-71 in the Prussian. armyhave been in use, because there are reports that one of the dead soldiers, the identification tagand paybooks have lost.In the “History of the clothing and equipment of the Royal. Prussian Army in the years1806-1878 “Mila says of the identification tag:”§ 593. Behufs better establish the identity of remaining in battle or unconsciousencountered wounded receives the Ausmarsch the field (according to Section 110 of the Regulation onMedical service of the army in the field of 29 April 1869) each soldier one on the naked bodyaround the neck on a cord to wear plate mark, which with the owner of the registerthe military unit accompanying number and provided with the name of the military unit itselfis; e.g. -75- Rh.Cür.R. 8 – 2.E. Originally, the brand “Rekognitionsmarke” named and had the shape of a rectangle; the War Sanitätsordungfrom January 10, 1878 gave them the name “dog tags” and an ellipticalForm.”With safety so it can be assumed that these brands already in 1869 in the Prussian. armywas and it was issued in the mobilization in 1870 to the soldiers.Goods on the identification tag initially only the abbreviated designation and formation or unitsmashed the serial number under which the regimental matrikel the respective Personaliendeswere registered carrier, we went in 1914 by this scheme from.
